Questions
How are race times predicted?
With Peter Riegel's formula: T₂ = T₁ × (D₂ ÷ D₁)^1.06. It assumes you have trained for the longer distance, so marathon predictions from a 5K are usually optimistic.
What is a good pace for beginners?
Most new runners jog at 6:30–8:00 min per km. Many Indian city runs like the 10K events and half marathons have generous cut-off times, so run at a pace where you can still talk.
What is the difference between pace and speed?
Pace is time per kilometre (e.g. 6:00 /km); speed is kilometres per hour (10 km/h). One is simply 60 divided by the other.
