Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal information namasivayam.in collects, why, and the choices you have. The site is run by Namasivayam Vadivelan, Tamil Nadu, India ("I", "me"). In short: I collect very little, I never sell your data, and there are no ads.

1. What I collect and why

a) Contact form and email

When you use the contact form, your name, email address and message are emailed to me so I can reply. They are not stored in a database on the website. I keep the email in my inbox only as long as needed to reply and follow up, and you can ask me to delete it at any time.

b) Website analytics (only if you accept)

If you click Accept on the cookie notice, the site loads Google Analytics 4, which sets cookies (such as _ga) to count visits and understand which pages are useful — for example, pages viewed, approximate city/country, device and browser type, and how you arrived. IP addresses are not used by me to identify you. If you click Decline, Google Analytics is not loaded at all. You can change your choice any time with Cookie settings. Google's handling of this data is described in Google's Privacy Policy.

c) The free tools

All 200 free tools (calculators, converters, image and text tools) run entirely in your browser. The numbers, text, files and images you enter or upload are not sent to any server. A few tools (for example Notepad and Shopping list) and the cookie choice save data in your own browser's local storage so it is there next time; that data never leaves your device, and you can clear it by clearing your browser's site data.

d) Server logs

Like every website, my hosting provider automatically records basic technical logs (IP address, date and time, page requested, browser) for security and to keep the site running. These are kept for a limited time and are not used to identify you.

2. Third-party services

• Google Fonts — the site's fonts are loaded from Google's servers, which receive your IP address to deliver them.
• Google Analytics — only after you accept (see above).
• Links to other sites — WhatsApp, YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, Facebook and other links take you to sites with their own privacy policies. Share buttons only open those sites when you click them.

I do not use advertising networks, tracking pixels or sell, rent or trade personal data with anyone.

3. Your rights

In line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and its rules (being brought into force in phases from November 2025), you can:

• ask what personal data I hold about you and how it is used;
• ask me to correct, complete, update or delete it;
• withdraw your consent at any time (for analytics, use Cookie settings);
• nominate another person to exercise your rights if you are unable to;
• raise a grievance with me, and if it is not resolved, approach the Data Protection Board of India.

To use any of these rights, email me@namasivayam.in. I will reply as soon as possible, and in any case within 30 days.

4. Children

This site is meant for a general audience. I do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 18. If you are a parent and believe your child has sent me personal information, please contact me and I will delete it.

5. Security

The site is served over HTTPS, the contact form has spam protection, and no personal data is stored in a website database. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but I take reasonable steps to protect your information.

6. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
