Questions
Which tax regime does this use?
The new tax regime for FY 2026-27 (the default regime): nil tax up to ₹4 lakh, then 5% to 30% in ₹4 lakh steps, a ₹75,000 standard deduction, and a Section 87A rebate that makes tax nil up to ₹12 lakh of taxable income (with marginal relief just above it), plus 4% cess.
Why is my in-hand lower than CTC ÷ 12?
CTC includes the employer's PF contribution, and your pay is reduced by your own 12% PF, professional tax and income tax (TDS). Gratuity, bonuses and insurance in your CTC can lower monthly pay further.
Can I deduct professional tax in the new regime?
No. Professional tax is still deducted from your pay, but the deduction for it under the old law is not allowed in the new regime, so this calculator does not reduce your taxable income by it.
