Questions
How much extra tile should I buy?
Add 5–10% for straight laying and 12–15% for diagonal or herringbone patterns or rooms with many corners. Keep a few spare tiles for future repairs — the exact shade can be hard to match later.
How many sq ft is a 600 × 600 mm tile?
600 × 600 mm = 0.36 m² ≈ 3.875 sq ft. A box of 4 covers about 15.5 sq ft. A 2 × 4 ft (600 × 1200 mm) tile covers about 7.75 sq ft.
Does the joint gap change the count?
Slightly — a 2–3 mm spacer gap reduces the count by well under 1% for large tiles, so the wastage allowance covers it.
