Questions
How do I compare prices of different pack sizes?
Divide the price by the quantity to get the unit price — for example ₹65 for 500 g is ₹130 per kg, while ₹560 for 5 kg is ₹112 per kg, so the bigger pack is cheaper by ₹18 a kg.
Where can I see the unit price in India?
The Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules require most packs to show the unit sale price (per kg, litre or unit) along with the MRP, so you can check it on the label too.
Is the biggest pack always the best value?
Not always — offers on smaller packs often beat bulk prices. Also buy bulk only if you will use it before the best-before date.
