Questions
Which shape should I choose?
1:1 suits WhatsApp and Instagram profile pictures, 4:5 is the tallest Instagram post, 16:9 fits YouTube thumbnails and widescreen, 3:4 is a typical portrait and Passport gives the 35 × 45 mm shape used for passport-size photos.
Does cropping reduce quality?
No. The crop keeps the original pixels inside the box. Only the passport option resizes the crop to 413 × 531 px.
Is my photo uploaded anywhere?
No. The image is opened and processed on a canvas inside your browser. Nothing is sent to any server, so it works even offline once the page has loaded.
